Yanamala Ramakrishnudu

Yanamala Ramakrishnudu is a senior politician and a Politburo member of the Telugu Desam Party from East Godavari in Andhra Pradesh. He is the Minister for Finance & Planning Commercial Taxes, Legislative Affairs and Assembly Affairs in Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Personal Biography

Yanamala Ramakrishnudu is the son of Yanamala Appa Rao. He was born on May 12, 1951 in AV Nagaram. He was a graduate and holds a degree in LL.B. from Sagar University in Madhya Pradesh. Ramakrishnudu also has a Masters Degree in Arts.

He is married to Y Vijaya Lakshmi and has two daughters. He reads books and plays shuttle in his pastime.

Professional Biography

Yanamala Ramakrishnudu was elected to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly from Tuni constituency for six terms - in 1983, 1985, 1989, 1994, 1999 and 2004. Ramakrishnudu served as the finance minister of Andhra Pradesh. He inaugurated the Visakhapatnam branch of Sri Viswa Vignanana Vidya Adhyatmika Peetham in Bheemunipatnam on December 24, 2001.

Ramakrishnudu has traveled abroad several times and has visited USA, Canada, UK, Paris, Brazil, China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, U.A.E., Israel and London.



October 13, 2012: Yanamala Ramakrishnudu criticized the padayatra of YSR Congress Party leader Sharmila saying that it is staged only to counter TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu’s ’Vastunna Mee Kosam’ padayatra. He asked the YSRCP leaders to explain to the people why Jagan Mohan Reddy is in jail.


Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said Telugu Desam Party will win 125 Assembly seats and will form the government in Andhra Pradesh. He thanked all the TD and BJP candidates for working hard to ensure victory of the party. May 7, 2014


On 10 December 2015, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu stated that the State government is making efforts to introduce new reforms from primary education to university. The Minister inaugurated a junior college in Korukonda of East Godavari district. Notification for filling posts of Group-I and Group-II through public service commission will be announced shortly. He said:

  • Rs. 6,640 crore has been earmarked for agriculture. The government is making efforts to provide Minimum Support Price for paddy.
  • Two bedroom houses would be built for poor. 1200 houses would be sanctioned for each constituency.
  • Loan waiver to the tune of Rs. 25,000 crore has been implemented for farmers
  • State government is spending Rs. 5000 crore on pensions.
