Konathala Ramakrishna is a politician and a former Minister from Anakapalle in Visakhapatnam. In December 2015, it was reported that he would join the Telugu Desam Party. Prior to that, Konathala Ramakrishna served in the Indian National Congress and YSR Congress parties.
Konathala Ramakrishna is known to be a close confidant of former Chief Minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy. After the demise of YSR, he is close to YSR's son Jagan Mohan Reddy. After the 2014 elections, Konathala had a fall out with Jagan and subsequently quit the YSR Congress Party.
Konathala was elected Member of Parliament twice from the Anakapalli Lok Sabha Constituency. He was first elected to the Lok Sabha in 1989-91 and then from 1991-96.
He was elected a Member of Legislative Assembly from Anakapalli constituency in 2004.
Rama Krishna helped Golla Babu Rao get a congress ticket to contest from Payakaraopet in the 2009 General Elections.
