Anand Sharma

Anand Sharma is a politician of the Indian National Congress Party from Himachal Pradesh. He is the Union Minister for Commerce in the government of Manmohan Singh. Anand Sharma is a lawyer by profession.

Anand Sharma acted as the Chief Spokesman for the Indian National Congress for six years. He is the current Commerce and Industry minister.



On 7 December 2015, Anand Sharma has demanded a statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Parliament on the NSA talks held between India and Pakistan in Bangkok.


Bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh

Anand Sharma rebutted claims of BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi that Congress had unilaterally bifurcated Andhra Pradesh. He said Congress had consulted all stakeholders in the bifurcation issue and it was discussed in both house of Parliament. An all-party meeting was convened by the Prime Minister.
