US failed to accomplish desired goals in Afghanistan: Zardari

Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has said the US and NATO troops have been waging anti-terror war in Afghanistan for last seven years, but they have failed to accomplish the desired goals so far.

Islamabad, Mar 24 : Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has said the US and NATO troops have been waging anti-terror war in Afghanistan for last seven years, but they have failed to accomplish the desired goals so far.

He questioned Obama-led US Administration what major success they had achieved during their last 10 years' struggle in Afghanistan.

"I assumed charge of office of presidency mere four months ago and it is too early to expect much good," The News quoted Zardari, as saying.

Warning against the adverse consequences of cross-border terrorism from Afghanistan, Zardari noted, "Terrorists from Afghanistan launch cross-border attacks on our forces which by no mean will help Pakistan boost her anti-terror war".

"Swat peace pact is parallel to what President Obama often discuss to ink with moderate Taliban in Afghanistan" Zardari declared in response to a question and underscored, "Those, who seek peace and yearn to choose the dialogue process, must lay down arms first to reach any deal."

Pertaining to war on terrorism Zardari urged international community to collectively claim responsibility of incidents happening in Afghanistan and remarked that our past allies, who would jointly fight Russian war with us, left Afghans isolated and now accusing us of Afghanistan's instability.

"Now, all must join hands to overpower crisis destabilizing this region", proposed Asif Ali Zardari regretting the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto he said, "I myself have lost my wife amid this terror war."
