Srinagar, Aug 23 : A four-member committee set up by Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra will be holding its first round of talks with the Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti (SAYSS) here today to discuss the five-point agenda submitted by the government to the Samiti.
The four-member committee side is headed by Tilak Raj Sharma while the government side is headed by the former Chief Secretary, S.S. Bloeria. He is now Adviser to the Governor.
Earlier, the SAYSS announced a series of agitational programmes, including the launch of a civil disobedience movement against the administration, till all its demands were met. The Samiti has called for a complete shutdown on August 25.
Police has arrested 18 people in connection with large-scale protests over the land imbroglio.
Earlier this month, wide scale protests over the Amarnath land issue led to violence and a riot like situation in the state.
